BadgerNet Maternity
by System C
Supporting the delivery of almost 400,000 babies each year
The only complete end-to-end solution to cover pregnancy
BadgerNet Maternity is the only comprehensive solution that enables real-time recording of events and care throughout pregnancy, from pre-conception to postnatal and with the addition of early pregnancy and gynaecological care. It offers locally configurable pathways and tasks, aligns with all national standards and regulations and eliminates the need for paper records. As a centrally hosted solution, trusts have the option to opt into the Single Pregnancy Record (SPR), meaning for each woman who is cared for in the maternity unit they have a record that can be access by other maternity sites if needed, allowing clinicians from different BadgerNet sites access to one record, ensuring clinical safety. Our Badger Notes portal and app provides pregnant women access to their pregnancy notes, empowering them to be involved in their care and promoting a woman-centred approach.
Key Features:
- BadgerNet EPAGU: integrates Maternity and Early Pregnancy & Gynaecology services
- Enhances clinical safety with a Single Pregnancy Record
- Promotes woman-centred care and empowerment via the BadgerNotes app
- Provides bedside access and documentation through our iPad app
- Enables comprehensive reporting and auditing
Maintaining the highest standard of clinical safety
BadgerNet Maternity is designed as an end-to-end solution, allowing real-time data entry, ensureing all events are documented contemporaneously. BadgerNet Maternity has the ability to integrate with key systems within the hospital, thus removing the need for paper notes and/or duplicative data entry.
In approximately 40% of pregnancies women move between maternity services, the SPR ensures the sites who are caring for the woman have access to the full- record, giving all healthcare professionals access to critical information rapidly and safely.
Returning time back to care
BadgerNet enables clinicians to spend more time on patient care and less on administrative tasks. Locally configurable task lists and midwife and consultant-led pathways such as community, outpatients, ward attenders, inpatient stays, labour and birth care (inpatient or domiciliary setting) and postnatal contacts allows clinicians to easily access and update notes throughout the shift. Additionally, access to charting and national early warning scoring ensures all required documentation is readily available at the bedside and during other patient interactions. This reduces time spent on administrative duties during and post appointment.
Supporting a Woman Centred Approach to Care
The Badger Notes app empowers women by providing access to their digital records and enabling them to update their care plans, which can be accessed by clinicians.
Furthermore, the SPR gives clinicians from different BadgerNet sites access to the full record in the event that the woman transfers between sites during the course of her pregnancy. This is supportive of a woman centred approach to care because it minimises/removes the need for recounting of medical history which can be distressing. This is particularly important in emergency situations where the woman is unable to recount her history.
