Telia's offering
targets midsize and large customers seeking to integrate or replace their
telephony solutions with Microsoft Teams Phone System, using Microsoft Teams
Phone Mobile & Operator Connect.
Teams Telephony streamlines customer communication by integrating phone calls and collaboration into one unified solution. It offers the flexibility to work efficiently from the office, home, or on the go. Users can conveniently make and receive external calls using their computers, mobile phones, or any certified fixed telephones. The solution can also be combined with switchboards and contact center applications.
Operator Connect
Operator Connect is based on a shared infrastructure between Telia and
Microsoft, where Telia provisions phone numbers and call settings directly in
the customers' Teams tenant. This service allows customers to get started with
minimal technical skills required, managing their settings through the Microsoft
Teams Admin Center.
The service also includes support for customers to contact Telia with tickets
regarding external call quality issues of the phone numbers in Teams. Telia
will troubleshoot, contact Microsoft if needed, and get back to customer once
the issue has been resolved.
Telia’s offering is based on three subscriptions:
- Teams
Phone Mobile (Mobile users)
Teams Phone Mobile is an integration designed by Microsoft that combines mobile subscriptions with Teams, offered by several operators such as Telia.
This solution merges the user’s mobile number with Teams, providing a unified calling experience through a single number across multiple devices and reducing costs by utilizing one calling plan for both Teams and mobile calls. Users can effortlessly answer mobile calls on their laptops, move ongoing mobile calls between devices, and maintain synchronized mobile line status & call history in Teams. It also enables Teams features like, speech-to-text subtitling/translation, recording, AI Assistance (Copilot) for mobile calls. - Fixed
Phone Number Users
Fixed Phone Numbers can be added to Teams for calling from computers, mobile apps or fixed telephones. It can be new numbers or ported numbers from another solution/operator. Telia supports all local area codes or non-geographical numbers. - Service
Numbers for Teams Call Queues
Service Numbers enables the customers to have Call Queues natively in Teams. Teams Call queues can have menu features (press 1,2,3 …) and distribution characteristics for available users/agents. Teams Call Queues is often the last step for the customer when replacing an old PBX system.

Expand the ecosystem
For more advanced solutions, Telia offers Switchboard Console and advanced call
queue features through partners like Competella, Tendfor, and Genesys. They
provide a Teams-certified contact center application, produced in Microsoft
Azure, which is scalable via flexible subscription models.
Guided Pilot by Telia
The Guided Pilot allows customers to try, test, and evaluate the Telia Operator
Connect to gain a better understanding before making a purchase decision or
deploying it on a larger scale. Telia will provide experts for a 60-day trial
period during which Telia and the customer will together configure, test, and
evaluate the solution with up to 30 users in customers real Teams environment.
This evaluation can include any combination of Operator Connect, including
users with fixed phone numbers, mobile subscriptions (Teams Phone Mobile), or
Teams Call queues.
