Acterys Reporting

As a developer supporting our FP&A team, Acterys has been a great tool to work with. The integration with Power BI is smooth, and the write-back features work reliably—which saves us a ton of time compared to building custom solutions. What I really appreciate is how extendable it is. You can connect to various data sources, automate processes, and customize models without jumping through hoops. It’s well-documented, and their support team actually knows what they’re doing. It’s rare to find a planning tool that works well for both finance users and devs, but Acterys hits that balance.

Disappointed I didn't learn about Acterys earlier in my career, I know of several past clients that would've benefited from the tool.

Acterys solves the classic pain points of financial planning and analysis—manual data consolidation, scattered spreadsheets, version control chaos, and slow, static reporting. It brings all your data together into a single, governed model that lives inside Power BI and Excel, so both finance teams and developers can work in sync. For us, the biggest win is automation. Data from multiple systems is integrated and refreshed automatically, eliminating hours of manual prep work. Forecasts and budgets can be entered and updated directly in reports with write-back, so there’s no need to bounce between tools or manage endless Excel files.

We implemented last year Acterys as our New Planning Tool in my company. The technology from Acterys together with the Power BI package it gave us an excellent environment for our current and future Planning process. The Modeller is an awesome tool to create and maintain data models in an easy way and without knowledge of SQL. Planning with the Acterys visuals is a great experience, and constantly new releases are bringing to the end user an experience even better. It's easy to implement and use and also you have a great customer support, I think we took the right decision going with Acterys.

We found out that features were missing when we started working with Acterys, but they tried to cover them with new releases. Just to give an example, we missed an easy way to create comments with MATRIX gen 2 PBI visual. With one of the releases beginning of 2024 they covered this feature and that was incredibly good. They are trying to make the Planning experience every time a better experience.

It allowed us to continue our path into "Cloudification" deleting the boundaries of old on-premises software. Inefficient data modeling and planning: Modeller is a user-friendly tool for building and maintaining data models. Limited planning capabilities: Combination of Acterys and Power BI offers a wonderful planning experience with lots of functionalities.

Acterys is a very user friendly tool that allows its users to navigate it with ease. Anyone who is exposed with data and financials can easily catch-up with the tool's built in features. From a developer's standpoint: - You don't need to do too much code when implementing ETL/ELT processes for your organization. - Acterys is able to connect to most CRM tools and data sources (eg. Xero, Quickbooks, etc.) - You can implement RLS or PLS with ease! From an SLT standpoint: - The writeback feature it provides in Power BI allows you to do FP&A or xP&A in realtime - Device authentication and IP whitelisting. Acterys makes sure that only you and the people that you trust can have access to your data

As of the moment I don't have any conerns regarding Acterys. Would love to see more default data sources that Acterys has in store-- currently you have to manually connect data sources not associated with Acterys.

It's helping me automate my flow of data from source to reporting with minimal coding needed.

Very helpful tool, with a great Customer Support. It is very easy to Use and We use it all the time. It have huge amount of the features and it is very easy to integrate.

I cannot remeber anything that I dislike amout Acterys

I'm fairly new in using Acterys but I can confidently say that it is user-friendly. In terms of functionality, Acterys helps alleviate the burden of wrangling data. I particularly appreciate how seamless it consolidates and integrates data from various sources. Additionally, I am also impressed by its write-back capability, wherein adjustments are reflected in real-time, thus enhancing planning and analysis for making better data-driven decisions.

Honestly, I have no dislikes about using Acterys since it significantly aids me in managing and performing my work effectively.

Since most of the sources that I am working with comes from various sources, Acterys solves my burden of data wrangling by seamlessly consolidating them and connecting them to power BI.

Able to customize and tailorfit to diferent business needs accross different company departments.

Would be appreciated if they could update their custom visuals to be a bit more visually appealing in terms of formating options (ex: conditional formating color schem on Matrix and Table visuals)

I really like their FP&A product. I was really impressed with their write-back capability in Power BI. It allows us to make real-time updates directly within our reports, which significantly improves our efficiency and keeps our data current without manual intervention. Additionally, the integration with various data sources, including ERP and accounting systems, makes it incredibly easy to consolidate data and create comprehensive reports.

I’ve had a great experience with no major issues to report.

Set up and changes need to be handled manually with the Acterys team.

Acterys helps us to export and transform our data to visualize actionable opportunities. We also use the system to consolidate financials and operational metrics across multiple markets.

did exactly what I need - provide structured/logical access to xero data. All the joy of PowerBI was a bonus. Plus writeback and in xls too. Very happy. Enbables me to build out of own management reports without the constraints of Xero.

Acterys helped Urban Energy do build a whole tool for the Company. It allows us to track advancement of the projects, profitability, budgets, AP and AR. They are aggregating datas from a lot of different tools that we are using (QBO, time tracking, Microsoft Project, etc) in one place so we can compare datas and have a live and always updated view of where we stand. The implementation is very smooth and easy and they are answering questions/concerns in no time. It changes the daily operation of the company radically and we saved at least 10hrs/week of manual work. I can not recommend them enough, it's worth the investment.

Before Acterys we were not sure data were up to date, with Acterys we are now sure it's all up to date every day so you're sure to look at the correct picture. They build our cashflow tool so we can do different scenarios, that changes the way we can plan and around our AR and AP. They also automated a lot of the manual work
