Pleasant TreeView - displays DocLib in tree format

The "Pleasant TreeView" add-in allows you to view / manipulate the document libraries that reside on the SharePoint Online site like Explorer.

- Feature -

(1) There are 2 types of display forms.

It is available in two kinds of following forms.

- Window form display type

As in Explorer view, a separate window opens and displays the document library in it.

- In-page embed type

Place it as a Web Part on the page on SharePoint Online and display the document library in it.

(2) Multiple document libraries can be displayed on one screen.

You can view any document library in the site collection.

In addition, it is possible to arrange multiple add-in part on one screen and display different document libraries respectively.

(3) The appearance can be changed.

It is possible to change display items, order of display items from the left, font size, icon image and so on.

- Background of development -

By using the "Aiprovide Pleasant TreeView" add-in, you can display the document libraries that reside on the SharePoint Online site like Explorer.

When doing document management using SharePoint, create a document library on the site and register the document in this document library. In this case, like file servers, it is common to create folders in document libraries and classify documents.

Although it may be possible to operate without creating folders, in that case, document libraries corresponding to the classification are required, and the number of document libraries increases. Also, since the items are stored flat in the document library, it takes time for the user to find the desired document. For that reason, we usually create folders and store the documents in them.

When actually implementing document management by the document library and starting operation, the number of documents increases as the number of users used increases. For this reason, in order to enhance the convenience of document management, management with folders is essential. In addition, in actual operation, as the number of documents increases, the folder hierarchy tends to become deep and complicated.

However, when creating a folder in the document library, registering the document and managing the document there is a problem that it is difficult to follow the hierarchical structure of the folder in the standard view of SharePoint. As a solution in this case, we responded by hierarchically displaying folders in the past, explorer view.

However, modern browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox do not support explorer view, there was no way other than using standard view.

In this situation, we have developed an add-in for manipulating documents with the convenience of Explorer, displaying the folder hierarchy in the document library like Explorer.
