Microsoft Data Security Engagement

The Data Security Engagement leverages Microsoft Purview tools and services to uncover risks that might be harmful to your organization. The engagement includes a Data Security Check, which is a key component that uses an automated process to:

• Discover data stored in the Microsoft 365 Cloud and analyze it for the presence of artifacts that may pose data security risks to the organization.
• Analyze user behavior for events that pose a risk to the organization, ranging from the loss of intellectual property to workplace harassment

The Data Security Check is structured around typical Microsoft 365 services and their associated data repositories that organizations use. At its core, it analyzes user behavior and scans data repositories related to email, collaboration, and document storage. Optional modules can be added to extend the Data Security Check to include on-premises data repositories, Windows 10/11 endpoints, and more.

The engagement also includes the following steps:

1. Pre-engagement meeting: Document your objectives and strategy around data security, privacy, and compliance.
2. Data Security Check: Detect, investigate, and take action on data security and privacy risks.
3. Microsoft Purview Portfolio Overview: Demonstrate ways to accelerate your compliance journey with the latest Microsoft technologies.
4. Recommendations and Next Steps: Provide actionable next steps based on your needs and objectives
5. Product Overview:  Review what is available with full Microsoft 365 E5 licenses vs current licenses.

The goal of the Microsoft Data Security Engagement is to help organizations understand the risks that exist in their data and develop a roadmap to mitigate and protect their company's information.
