Project Phases

Mobilization & Assessment

DataDivers begin by mobilising the delivery team, confirming governance, and aligning on ways of working. Discovery workshops with key stakeholders will define the specific use case, focusing on improving data-driven decision-making across business domains. We will identify key KPIs, required datasets, and desired business outcomes.

Platform Review and Recommendations

If the customer has already completed a Fabric proof of concept, we assess its readiness to support the agreed use case by reviewing ingestion pathways, workspace design, medallion layer usage, and access control for sensitive data.

If a Fabric proof of concept has not yet been completed, we begin by planning the target architecture and establishing the foundational Fabric platform environment to enable subsequent build activities.

Recommendations will focus on platform scalability, security, and data governance.

Production Hardening & Platform Configuration

The platform will be uplifted to a production-ready state using our OpenWater Fabric framework. We will configure lakehouses, access roles, and environments tailored to efficiently ingest and process data.

Operating Model Workshop

An optimised operating model ensures people, processes, and technology work seamlessly together to sustain solution value. It drives efficiency, scalability, and accountability—reducing friction, enhancing collaboration, and enabling faster time to value for greater agility, performance, and return on investment.

Key Delivery Milestones

Milestone 1 – Platform Established and Configured

• Ingestion Pipeline Build (Bronze Layer) - We develop ingestion pipelines to capture relevant source data from identified systems into the Bronze layer. This step ensures clean, observable data intake across diverse data sources, complete with metadata tagging and monitoring for quality and performance.
• Curation & Enrichment (Silver Layer) - The Bronze data is transformed into structured, enriched datasets in the Silver layer. Business rules and transformations are applied to unify and cleanse data, enabling accurate analysis. These curated datasets form the analytical foundation of the solution.
• Gold Layer & KPI Model Development - A Gold layer model is developed to support key business KPIs. A semantic model is then built in Power BI to serve these metrics, enabling consistent and explainable insights across the organisation.
• Dashboard Development, Security & Monitoring - Power BI dashboards are created to provide actionable insights for operational and management teams. Data and workspace security are configured, and platform monitoring is implemented to ensure performance and compliance oversight.
• Enablement, Handover & Wrap-Up - We finalise solution knowledge transfer, documentation, and operational readiness. Final showcase and close-out sessions ensure the solution is embedded, supported, and owned by the client team.
