What Gets Migrated Automatically
- Measures and Calculations — Beast Mode formulas are converted into DAX measures and calculated columns. Aggregation logic, conditional expressions, and functions are preserved.
- Data Models and Relationships — Table schemas, column types, and inter-table relationships are rebuilt in the Power BI semantic model with full referential integrity.
- Visuals and Layouts — Charts, cards, KPI tiles, and dashboard layouts are recreated with matching Power BI visual types including formatting and color properties.
- Filters and Parameters — Page-level and report-level filters, slicers, and parameterized queries are carried over for the same interactive experience.
- Data Refresh Schedules — Refresh configurations are mapped to Microsoft Fabric pipeline schedules for continuous automation.
- Business Logic and KPIs — Conditional formatting, thresholds, targets, and KPI definitions are faithfully reproduced.
How It Works
Our pipeline runs four orchestrated Fabric notebooks with built-in error handling, logging, and validation:
- Ingest from Domo — Extracts datasets, metadata, Beast Mode formulas, filter configs, and visual layouts via API. Data is staged in Azure Lakehouse.
- Build Semantic Model — Generates tables, columns, data types, and relationships optimized for Power BI.
- Apply Business Logic — Creates all DAX measures, calculated columns, formatting rules, and KPI definitions programmatically.
- Generate Power BI Report — Produces the final .pbip report with all pages, visuals, filters, and layout configurations ready for deployment.
