Microsoft Power Platform Solution Discovery is a Microsoft 365 professional services engagement that helps customers get started with — and extend their use of — Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Power Automate. The engagement provides solution discovery expertise, capabilities and know-how that customers typically do not have in-house or need to augment, supporting them to scope digital solutions, clarify business intent and prepare for build with confidence. Activities focus on understanding requirements, constraints and indicative complexity, rather than defining detailed designs or configurations. Outputs from this service provide the information required to prioritise initiatives and prepare a Time and Materials Statement of Work aligned to the subsequent build phases.

Deliverable

The customer receives a validated and prioritised set of solution opportunities for Microsoft Copilot Studio agents, Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Power Automate, with documented scope boundaries, dependencies, constraints, risks and indicative delivery considerations — ready to inform a follow-on Statement of Work.

Detailed agenda

Phase 1 — Initiation

• Discovery kick-off and alignment (1 hour): objectives, scope, stakeholder roles, decision-making authority and the set of solution ideas to be explored

Phase 2 — Discovery

• Use case and outcome exploration (2 hours): business context, target users, current operating practices and intended outcomes
• Solution deep-dive workshops (up to 4 × 2 hours): shortlisted solutions examined against existing processes, user behaviours, systems, data and operational practices, including security, compliance, escalation paths and operational ownership

Phase 3 — Analysis and recommendations

• Feasibility and delivery assessment (offline): consultant-led review of feasibility and indicative delivery complexity for each shortlisted solution
• Playback and recommendations (1.5 hours): scoped solutions, dependencies, assumptions, risks and indicative delivery considerations, with recommended next steps
