Microsoft Copilot Studio Training: Agent in a Day - Workshop

Changing Social LTD

Microsoft Copilot Studio Training: Agent in a Day is a Microsoft 365 professional services engagement that helps customers get started with, and extend their use of, Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The engagement provides hands-on agent-build expertise, capabilities and know-how that customers typically do not have in-house or need to augment, taking participants from awareness of Microsoft Copilot Studio through to building and testing both conversational and autonomous agents in their own environment. The workshop is delivered using a lecture-and-lab model across four modular sessions, supporting progressive learning from foundational concepts through to applied agent configuration. Designed for cohorts of up to 20 participants per training instance.

Detailed agenda

Module 1 — Introduction to Microsoft Copilot Studio (2 hours)

  • Lecture and demonstration: agent concepts, high-level architecture, orchestration models, environments and solution structure
  • Guided walkthrough of the Microsoft Copilot Studio interface
  • Lab: participants create their first agent using descriptions and templates, exploring core agent elements and validating access

Module 2 — Orchestration and knowledge sources (2 hours)

  • Teaching-led session on agent orchestration concepts, orchestration modes and knowledge source types including Microsoft Dataverse
  • Lab: participants configure a knowledge source, apply orchestration settings and observe how these choices influence agent behaviour, producing a working agent enriched with organisational knowledge

Module 3 — Building a conversational agent (2 hours)

  • Conversational agent design: topic structure, triggers, conditional logic and generative responses
  • Demonstrations of testing and review using activity maps
  • Lab: participants create and configure conversational topics within their agent, apply triggers and logic, and test conversation flows, producing a draft conversational agent

Module 4 — Creating an autonomous agent (2 hours)

  • Autonomous agent concepts: tool categories, agent flows, connectors and trigger-based execution
  • Demonstrations on combining tools and triggers, plus testing and publishing considerations
  • Lab: participants configure an autonomous trigger, connect a tool or agent flow, test behaviour using activity maps and complete end-to-end validation and publishing

What you get

  • Up to 20 participants trained in Microsoft Copilot Studio across four modular sessions
  • Draft conversational agent configured by each participant during guided labs
  • Draft autonomous agent configured by each participant during guided labs
  • Practical understanding of how orchestration, knowledge sources and tools influence agent behaviour
  • Confidence to navigate Microsoft Copilot Studio and use core agent configuration features independently
  • Clarity on the boundary between training scenarios and deeper development work, with onward recommendations
