Migrating Microsoft SQL & Power BI to Microsoft Fabric

This offering helps organizations modernize their existing SQL-based data platforms and Power BI environments by migrating them to Microsoft Fabric. Many customers today operate fragmented analytics architectures where SQL databases, ETL processes, and Power BI reports are managed separately, leading to increased operational overhead and limited scalability. Microsoft Fabric unifies these components into a single SaaS-based analytics platform built on OneLake.

Tech Data works closely with customers to assess their current SQL data sources and Power BI assets, understand business reporting requirements, and design a target Microsoft Fabric architecture. Data from SQL Server, Azure SQL, or SQL Managed Instance is ingested into Fabric using native Fabric Data Factory pipelines and stored in Fabric Lakehouse or Warehouse. Existing Power BI reports are reconnected or optimized to leverage Fabric’s Direct Lake capabilities, enabling faster performance and simplified data access.

This service provides customers with a unified analytics platform that reduces complexity, improves performance, and prepares their data estate for advanced analytics, AI, and Copilot capabilities within Microsoft Fabric.
