Through a series of workshops and whiteboard sessions, Dell EMC Services will guide you through your data modernization options with SQL Server and Power BI. We will also develop a non-production ready Proof of Concept to demonstrate visualization and reporting capabilities with Power BI. At the end of the assessment, Dell will document findings and make recommendations to help you arrive at your desired end state for modern BI.

This engagement includes the following activities and topics:

Assessment

• Review current data architecture state, ETL and reporting tools in use.
• Review high availability, disaster recovery requirements/SLAs, data governance.
• Future state discussion.
• Methods of data access, consolidation and aggregation for analytics.
• Self-service access to data.

Reviews and demos of future-ready products & features

• Microsoft SQL Server 2016 enhancements.
• Hybrid cloud data modernization (Azure SQL DW, Stretch DB, Azure ML).
• Reporting and visualization with PowerBI.

Whiteboarding your desired future state

• Collaborate on future state design (infrastructure / architecture / data design).

Proof of Concept

• Collaborative hands-on Proof of Concept with a simple data source (such as Microsoft Excel) integrated with Power BI to demo features and functionality. This portion will be time-bound to a maximum of 4 hours and will not be production-ready.

Your Modern BI Roadmap

• Develop and present roadmap to achieve future BI state.
